The Poem Should Have Read

sad poetry, depressing poetry, three crows, dead trees, edgar allan poe, poetry, love poems, poems about recovery

The poem should have read,

“I’m here to lie to all of you

Saying I’m handsome and witty

But there’s no point and there’s no use

Because I’m ugly and shitty”

Done — over with — in four lines

But now we’re here and no better for it

The lesson should  have gone without saying
